Magnetorheological Fluid of High-Speed Unsteady Flow in a Narrow-Long Gap: An Unsteady Numerical Model and Analysis

To investigate the unsteady flow field generated by magnetorheological (MR) fluid of a high-speed laminar boundary layer in narrow-long gap absorber (MRA), new numerical model is proposed. The has magnetic-field-activated and inactivated regions, with MR flowing as bi-viscous (non-Newtonian) Newtonian fluid. described incompressible governing partial differential equation (PDE) initial-boundary conditions moving boundary. space-time solution domain discretized using finite difference method, PDE transformed into implicit equations. volume rate function constructed to solve solutions pressure gradient velocity based on mass conservation, continuity equation, bisection method. accuracy validated experiment data. results show that acceleration profiles along gap’s height are non-uniform distribution. Further, excitation current significant impact dynamic distribution profiles, makes asymmetric about central plane. Furthermore, transition stress increases, thickness pre-yield region activated increases. There also phenomenon Finally, good stability convergence.
